Current Pests of Concern in the New England Landscape with Robert D. Childs

Along with dealing with familiar insect pests in the landscape, such as specific caterpillars, aphids, spider mites and many others, Massachusetts residents are also becoming familiar with such exotic invaders as hemlock woolly adelgid, viburnum leaf beetle, lily leaf beetle, Asian longhorn beetle, winter moth and more.

Here in the New England landscape we are surrounded by stone walls of all shapes and fashions, including the more modern walls of stone and mortar, building veneer and cement products. But have you ever wondered how the old time walls still stand without any mortar tying the structure together? In this workshop, participants will learn about the proper methods to prepare and construct a dry stack (mortar less) stone wall with a focus on creating walls with stair returns.
